At the start of every new year, I spruce up what I call Tab’s Image Studio to suit my goals for the year and to be sure it is still an efficient and fun place to work. This year my focus is on COLOR, specifically doing more Phoenix Color Analysis appointments. Get the info here.
This room is right inside the front door of our home (what would be a third car garage in a different floor plan) and I share it with my toddler daughter so we can work and play together during the day.
A few tweaks it needed:
- a comfortable spot for draping my clients and for them to do makeUpdates with my friend, Jen
- a way to display the scarves my ladies try on to determine their best colors and their wardrobe color palette
- a place to display my jewelry that would also be where Jen could keep her makeup out during appointments
- a place for the journals and books I sell and give away
It made sense to dedicate this corner (as soon as you walk in the door) to my appointments. The shelf is a standard Rubbermaid (12″ x 48″) from Home Depot and the brackets are Hobby Lobby. My hubby secured it to studs in the wall.
I added a new, adjustable “retro bar stool” I found here on O.co and hung a mirror I already had. When Jen does MakeUpdates, I’ll take the jewelry down so she has a place to set out her makeup and brushes.
I was thrilled to find a local mama who makes blanket ladders, it’s perfect for my scarves! It’s pretty AND practical–my two top priorities for every space! She handmade it and stained it walnut. This is right inside the door.
My 3-tier cart is perfect for the books and journals I give away and sell, plus the business cards of my cohorts and referrals partners.
I have jBloom catalogs, my 2020 word on a vase and of course chocolate!
I’m so excited to invite women into this space!
Stay tuned because I’m tweaking the other side of the room a bit, too, and will host an open house soon! I’ll update this post when the time comes. Holler if you want to book an appointment or come over for a Strategy Session.
