Styled shoot in Chandler, Arizona by Beba Photography with Tabitha Dumas, Phoenix Image Consultant
This shoot with my dear friend Alicia took me back to when I was a young teen taking a modeling class with my BFF to learn poise, confidence, and how to look good in front of a camera.
Being photogenic takes practice! And a talented photographer.
Mine is Alicia Kern of Beba Photography. I highly recommend her!
We took these in central Chandler, Arizona at my husband’s latest flip house.
Some tips for a styled shoot :
1:: Try a variety of colors near your face
- solids are easier to wear than prints
- a solid top is nice
- try a blazer or cardigan layered over another color
2:: Pose in a variety of backgrounds
Here are a few options:
- greenery
- urban or brick
- city/industrial
- with a mural
- “in your element” whether an office, store or other location
Make sure to give yourself some fun backgrounds + plain backgrounds.
In the photo below, Alicia left some white space so I could place text there. Feel free to pin the image below to save this post.
3:: Do some full length and some waist up and remember you can sit or squat, too
4:: Try big, medium and small smiles (some with and without teeth)
5:: Pay attention to how you position your shoulders, chin and hands (a trusted photographer is a must!)
6:: Use props like coffee or tea cups, glasses, books, etc. to add personality and give yourself something to hold
7:: Mind the stray hairs and chipped fingernails–the less editing you need, the better!
Enjoy and feel free to pin!
Coral stretch blazer, white tee and distressed jeans in front of abstract art in a white chair. Buttoned up without being too fussy or too serious.
I’m using the two below for most of my business-related online profile pictures. You may have noticed it on Facebook and Pinterest!
Teal is my Signature Color so it just made sense to capture some photos wearing a dress from my favorite boutique. The one below is the picture I’m using for my main online profiles.
Cute “action shot” at a desk with my own journal, tea cup and pencil cup with colorful pens. My pen is in teal, my Signature Color of course!
I layered long and short necklaces and used the brown sandals to match my hair.
Welcome home!
This was the first outfit of the day and I loved the combination of the printed pants with the cream tank and denim blazer.
A great look for a Deep Color Code. It wasn’t overly loud but also wasn’t boring. Very much in line with my Signature Style Statement of vibrant, confident, down-to-earth mentor.
The look below was just for fun and to try some various poses and backgrounds.
Cream sleeveless summer sweater and lightly distressed jeans. A casual and youthful look. I added leopard print earrings for some pattern.
Styled shoots are so fun and give a HUGE confidence boost! Look out for details about a collaboration between Alicia and I coming soon!
