I’m focusing more on whole-istic living and the Purposeful Faith | Life | Style total package, which boils down to knowing yourself, being yourself and resting in that. I often revisit my style because, like much of life, it is ever evolving.
How well do you know yourself? Do you think much about your preferences and tastes? Do you know what captures your heart and stirs your imagination? If this is something you don’t consider much, here’s an exercise for you!
I have a My Style Pinterest board where I pin what I actually wear but my favorite is the My Style Explored Pinterest board to keep track of what appeals to me and what I’d like to add to my wardrobe. I recommend to all my clients that they have both!
I am fascinated by these My Style features in magazines so I thought, why not feature myself? This is a fun exercise for getting to know yourself, discovering themes and appreciating the beauty of your everyday life!

STYLE
Mantra :: The 3 Cs: Cool, comfortable and colorful.
Everyday shoe :: b.o.c. sandals (I own three different colors).
Daily uniform :: Cuffed skinny jeans, tunic-length top in a pretty color, sandals and jewelry. I can go from working in my office to karate with the kids to meeting a friend for tea.
Trusty carryall :: My Kate Spade hot air balloons tote given to me by a dear friend. It matches my logo!
Signature Scent :: Anything citrus, rose or gardenia-scented. Thymes is especially lovely.
Must-have makeup :: My everyday makeup look is Granite eye shadow, Shy blush and Peach Nectar lipstick, all Mary Kay. I do more warm or cool if the outfit warrants it.
Nail Polish :: OPI Shorts Story but only on my toes.
HOME
Design vibe :: A mix of beachy Southern, cottage and modern farmhouse. Plenty of cool colors, flowers and books.
Prized possession :: My hope chest, given to me on my 18th birthday after my grandfather refinished it. It belonged to my great-grandmother, Veronica Murphy.
Favorite spot :: My reading nook, which keeps moving and morphing! I believe strongly that every woman needs a spot. This was mine last year.

I collect :: Tea cups, tea pots, Willow Tree figurines, vintage linens, aprons, tea paraphernalia, pretty stationary.

Favorite flower :: Gerbera daisies. I first found them in a local florist shop and fell in love with the bold yet feminine beauty of them.

Dinner party menu :: I recently hosted a fall dinner and served chunky tomato soup, rosemary scones and sweet crock pot meatballs.
Morning ritual :: Pray, get the kids to school, coffee, KIND bar, post on social media, read.
Evening ritual :: Prep for the next day, write in my gratitude journal, diffuse relaxing essential oils, drink calming hot tea.

WORK
Art supplies :: Paints of all types, colored pens and pencils, rubber stamps, card-making supplies.
Touchstone Book :: Sarah Ban Breathnach’s “Simple Abundance.” I keep at least five copies on hand to give to people.
Favorite blogs :: Ann Voskmap, The Art of Simple
What’s on my desk :: To-do list, calendar, pens, candle, cup of coffee or tea.
Having gone through the exercise myself, I’d describe my style as…
Pretty, Practical, Romantic
I highly recommend interviewing yourself for a My Style feature of your own, even if no one ever sees it but you!
A Faith | Life | Style depends on knowing who you are and a My Style feature is a great way to accomplish that. Let me know if you have questions, or discover something new about yourself in the process!
Hi, Tabitha. What great ideas!
By the way, I ordered Simple Abundance a year or so ago upon your recommendation and liked it very much. I also started a morning devotional/gratitude habit after reading one of your columns – I think just before the COVID shutdown – and am grateful that I did. I’m still keeping up the routine.
Now I’m casting my eye about for a good spot for a reading/tea enjoying nook.
Thank you for all your encouraging, life-affirming posts.
Debra
