Being productive means being purposeful about what you need to get done. The more productive you are, the more you can expand your influence.
So!
Here are five things you can do tonight to be more productive tomorrow.
1. Take a look at your to-do list.
Anything that didn’t get done today? Move it to tomorrow. Remember to add household tasks, kid-related activities and any peripheral projects.
Also, choose your non-negotiables.
What MUST get done tomorrow? Write it down along with action steps that you need to take. Do you need to complete an assignment, follow up with someone, put something in the mail? Write it down.
For more on list-making, read this about becoming a list-maker.
2. Looking at that to-do list, do you need to go ahead and print out maps, directions, shopping lists, a mailing address or timelines?
Do it tonight and…
3. Pack your bag.
Files, notebooks, those maps and shopping lists, snacks, your camera, a gift for a friend, a phone charger…pack it up tonight and have it ready to go for the morning.
If you’re working from home all day, still make a pile or put what you need in a basket or tray for easy access tomorrow.

P.S. Don’t you love that bag pictured above?? It’s a Thirty-One bag and I HAVE AN EXTRA identical to this one if you want it! It’s the Zip-top Organizing Utility Tote. You can find it on my friend Ashleigh’s 31 website.
4. Plan breakfast, lunch and dinner.
Set out your bowl and oatmeal or wash your smoothie maker for breakfast. Are you taking your lunch with you? Pre-pack as much as you can or make sure you have cash for eating out. What’s for dinner tonight? Get the recipe out, check that you have what you need on hand, or add those items to your to-do list.
5. Lay out your clothes for tomorrow, from the underwear to the earrings.
Lay it ALL out.
Remember the time you were late because you had one errant shoe or camisole??
You’ll feel so much better with one less thing to worry about tomorrow!
Productivity always involves a lot of pre-planning. Busy people tend to dive into their day without a plan and just run around from one task to another. You don’t want to be that person. As I always say, “A smooth morning starts the night before.” I would also say…
“A productive day starts the night before.”

Great tips. I especially like the idea of getting ready even if you’re working from home.
Tiffiny-
Agreed!! I am much more productive on the days when I at least put on “real” pants! 🙂
