Sometimes we ask God for a sign or look for billboards with a giant arrow to tell us which way to go, but we miss the quiet whispers or the more subtle signposts.
Do you notice everyday miracles?
I’ve loved this quote for many years.
I find that it’s easy to ask God to show me something or point me in the right direction, then when something happens, to chock it up to coincidence.
We often feel silly saying something seemingly insignificant is “a sign.”
But if not the small signs…what??
[tweetthis]The last time I checked, God still isn’t using billboards to communicate with us. @tabithadumas #miracles[/tweetthis]
Early today, I saw a beautiful piece of art in my Instagram feed created by my friend Tiffiny of Studio Lilley.

I saw it again later because she had tagged me in the photo on my business account. That means she knew I would like it.
After having coffee with a dear friend this morning, I texted the director of the Gilbert Historical Museum (of which I serve on the board as the secretary) to ask if I could help her out with anything and she sent me on an errand to the Gilbert’s town hall to apply for a permit to hang banners for our upcoming quilt show.
Imagine my surprise when I saw this sign at her station.

“That’s funny, I saw that same quote on my friend’s artwork this morning! I think I needed to hear that message today! May I take a picture of it??”
“You can HAVE one!” she replied. “There’s a gal who made them for everyone and we have extras.”
Sure enough, there was one at each work space.
I was grinning from ear to ear as I left.
It’s the month of love so I know that seeing this quote this week isn’t THAT unusual.
But my friend creating the artwork and using that quote…and making sure I saw it…then my seeing it later and TAKING IT HOME…
That can’t be a coincidence.
The cool thing is, the whole concept goes along with my blog post about following your curiosity instead of your passion. Read it here.
I consider myself VERY multi-curious.
I battle with myself about whether it’s OK to love and pursue many things.
I think I’ve narrowed it down about as far as I can get it. I wrote about it here and here. I want to write about faith, life, style…and everything that encompasses. No, that’s not too much to ask.
I’m constantly asking God for reassurance that I’m on the right track and today, during my daily rounds, I got it.
As my mom often says, “I’d rather be guilty of believing God for too much than for too little.”
Why wouldn’t God care enough to reinforce something I’ve been thinking about lately?
Yes, He can use my friend Tiffiny and her art. Yes, he can use a sign at the town hall.
God goes out of His way to place love notes in our path, we just have to take the time to notice.
