We hit a bump

It’s been a busy few days plus the end of Christmas break for the boys so we’ve been in something of a holiday daze then…BAM!

We hit a bump.

Positive pregnancy test, January 9, 2017

So I’m pregnant. We’re expecting a little bundle of joy in September.

I am in shock.

I mean…I keep staring at the images of the test and re-living the first test I took two days ago (the little dip strip you get for 50cents each in a pack of 30) and I just can’t comprehend it.

Me. Pregnant. At age 39. After years of trying.

As I’m writing this, I’m shaking my head. To say it hasn’t sunk in yet is the understatement of the century.

I’m hoping as time goes on and more people know and I even start experiencing symptoms, it will start to feel real.

And, yes, we tell the news early because we believe in the power of prayer, especially in these crucial early days.

If you could lend us a prayer, we’d he honored.

Here’s how I told Drew (except with the original 50cent test and a visual of the poppy seed in my belly).

And with spreading the word to our family and friends and getting ready to go back to school, I’ve hardly had time to process it, let alone blog about it.

I can tell you that we’ve been wanting this for several YEARS so it’s a lot to take in. My heart and my head can’t seem to sync up.

The boys are very excited. My parents’ reaction was priceless. I’m having a blast telling people. I feel fantastic!

And my year-end wrap-up and “what’s coming in 2017” post is definitely different now!

Look for that next week.

But I wanted to get this out on the usual day and just let you know…

more is coming soon.
