The best little black dress for your color code
I actually recommend it when I do closet consults–every wardrobe needs a basic, versatile dress that’s flattering and fabulous. I tell my ladies LBD can stand for Little Blue Dress or Little Brown Dress, too.
As a preface, I will tell you that if the occasion allows, a dress in one of your “pop” colors will be so much more memorable and snazzy than a dark color. But for those times when you need something dark, read on.
I will walk you thought my recommendations for each Color Code. If you don’t know your Color Code, visit my Pinterest boards or read about your Color Code.
LIGHT
These are my fair blondes with light eyes. Black is OK if your hair is very light and/or if you are quite tan. Otherwise blue is so much more flattering. A navy or royal blue will be wonderful.
DEEP
I’m a DEEP and we can certainly pull off black. We can also do a navy, royal blue or dark brown. I’d suggest considering a burgundy or hunter green as your go-to dress, too.
SOFT
My SOFT gals are the ones we tell NO BLACK. Navy is far better and a medium brown would also be lovely. Here you see how nicely a beige works. Very elegant.
CLEAR
CLEAR ladies look fabulous in black although a black and white print would also be amazing. CLEARs can do navy or a dark charcoal, too.
WARM
For a WARM, brown is the way to go. A copper or rust would be gorgeous as well!
COOL
My COOL ladies can do black beautifully but also rock the navy or gray. A metallic would be stunning!
