One of my mantras is “Celebrate what you’re good at and get help when you need it.”
I freely admit that I still struggle with asking for help.
I’ve already talked about Why You Need to Start Asking for Help and Practical Ways to Practice Asking for Help.
The fact is…
No one can “do it all” and when we are able to use our gifts to help each other, everyone wins.
Well, this week I got help with something I’ve been considering for years–I hired someone to help me clean my house.
A team of four showed up and after an hour in my home, I was left with two pristine bathrooms and gorgeous tile floors throughout our entire living space.
The tile floors are gorgeous!
Since it was their first visit, they also cleaned the cabinet fronts and the baseboards.
Let me make something clear: I didn’t hire help so I didn’t have to do those tasks…I hired someone so those tasks would GET DONE.
The best feeling was working in my office while THEY worked. In my world, not much gets done without ME doing it so having something taken off my plate and done for me was an amazing feeling.
I’m hooked.
I wish I’d done it sooner.
I can’t state it strongly enough–get help.
I would advise you to take a moment to write down several things you could use help with, prioritize them then choose one to get help with ASAP. Whether you ask a friend or hire a professional, you’re worth it.
You’ll wonder why you waited so long.
Do you find it challenging or easy to ask for help?
