Finding the sweet spot of purpose without busyness.
When I was running around in 2008 trying to be Super Mom, I yearned for a more whole-isic and influential life and it took a miscarriage, a move and a total lifestyle overhaul for me to find it. It might look charmed but it took a lot of work and this is where I write about my journey.
Your work, home, family, style, passion, spiritual practice and community involvement are all parts of a whole-istic life and none should function individually. I learned that the hard way.
Whether you’re a mama to a special needs child just looking for a few moments of peace in your day, an entrepreneur trying to balance work, home and family, a community leader with your own buried dreams and aspirations or a retired nana redefining your place in the world, if you are determined to live a life that matters but unwilling to sacrifice your time, sanity or loved ones in the process, you’re in the right place.
I’m a fun-loving, get ‘er done mover and shaker committed to living an “out there” life, being of service and offering my gifts…and I also need time to sip a cup of tea, write in my journal and recharge after too much extroverting.
I burned out once and I’ll never let it happen again.
I am passionate about being a woman of influence. I love social media, networking, teaching, speaking…but I refuse to “hustle” or lose my peace to get ahead.
“Purpose without busyness” is at the heart of everything I do.
Whether your “thing” is running a home or an entire company, I’m all about inspiration and strategies to live UP to your potential while honoring your rhythms and values. If that sounds like something you need, I think you’ll find a home here.
I was born and raised in northern Florida, relocated to the Phoenix valley in 1998 and currently reside in Chandler, AZ with my hubby of 15 years (Drew, he’s a Realtor) and our two sons, ages 11 and 8. We just added a GIRL to the family in September, 2017!
Our new addition! Meet Kate Annelise here
I have been writing “since I learned to hold a pencil” as my dad tells it and was published at age 14 in a kids’ motorsports magazine.
I always wanted to be a teacher when I grew up and taught fourth grade in Rainbow Valley until we started our family. Now I get to teach grown-ups!
I got my feet wet in the east valley business world as a small business social media coach, ghost blogger, copywriter and editor. I love to shop local and support small business. Writing and editing are where my inner nerd comes out.
I’ve been blogging for over ten years and it’s still my favorite thing to do.
My other favorite things to do?
- treasure hunting (like a pirate, only in Goodwill and Ross)
- reading magazines
- growing roses
- drinking tea
- puttering around the house
- meeting new people
- avoiding people (I’m an out-going introvert)
- exploring local arts and culture
I’m an INFJ, imperfectionist, recovering people pleaser and beauty chaser.
I’ve never stopped playing dress-up and became a Certified Image Consultant in 2016.
I currently speak, teach and consult on a myriad of topics as well as host events and volunteer in the community.
My husband and I are in the process of creating a non-profit for ministry leaders called Desert Sanctum.
My passion is inspiring women to live their purpose and my “job” is to empower women to live, dress and serve confidently.
I love my life and I’m so glad you’re here!
