From a discussion on my Let Me Rephrase That Facebook page…
Q: With the increasing popularity of Smartphones, are people still reading blogs?
Let Me Rephrase That.
A better question might be, “Is blogging still a relevent method of communicating with your target market?”
A: YES.
The WAY people discover and read blogs and the REASONS why people read blogs have certainly changed as technology and online communication has changed, but YES, blogs are still a great way to communicate with, add value to and remain ‘in front of’ your target market.
As pointed out in this article by GeniusDivision.com…
“As we’ve got a perpetual instant access to information, I think blogs are becoming a completely different form of communication. A blog can be many different types of communication, and it depends on your style of writing and intentions.
As Twitter and Facebook has gained massive popularity, a blog stands separately from both types of communication, especially in terms of a business. A blog presents an opportunity to several things differently:
■Provide long-form opinions about relevant topics.
■Provide how-to guides on important or current topics.
■Provide a place to generate discussion.
■And several million other methods.”
I will be exploring more about this in my upcoming “Blogging for Business: Connecting With Your Target Market” class offered at the Gilbert Chamber of Commerce Small Business Growth Expo & Conference on Friday, November 9th. You can read about it and register: HERE.
